Ziva Postpartum Retreat, the first full-service, Black-owned postpartum retreat in North Carolina, has opened its doors to new mothers in need of specialized care and healing. Located inside the Le Meridien Hotel in Uptown Charlotte, the retreat offers a luxurious and nurturing environment to support mothers in their postpartum journey. This retreat aims to provide a blend of expert support and luxury, offering services and amenities designed to ease physical recovery and promote mental well-being.

A Sanctuary for New Moms in Uptown Charlotte

Ziva Postpartum Retreat is not just a place to rest; it is a sanctuary. The retreat offers everything a new mother might need, including 24/7 nursery access, lactation consultants, postpartum doula care, and yoga and meditation classes. Co-founder Selena Williams shared, “It’s been nearly a year of planning and preparation, and we are excited to share this blend of expert support and luxury.”

Designed to nurture both mothers and babies, Ziva is committed to providing a peaceful and supportive environment where mothers can rest, recover, and bond with their babies. In addition to essential services, mothers can enjoy meals and snacks, access to a mother’s lounge, and even add-on treatments like massages and pedicures.

First Black-Owned Postpartum Retreat in North Carolina

Ziva holds the distinction of being North Carolina’s first Black-owned postpartum retreat, joining a growing trend in the U.S. as postpartum retreats become more popular. The retreat’s founders, Selena Williams and Lauren Hall, decided to create a space that would address gaps in postpartum care, something Williams personally experienced after becoming a mother.

While postpartum retreats are already established in Europe and Asia, they have only recently started gaining popularity in the United States. The first U.S. postpartum retreat opened in New York in 2022, and now Ziva is the third Black-owned overnight postpartum retreat in the country. The state of North Carolina, ranked 11th in infant mortality, benefits greatly from having a sanctuary like Ziva to provide specialized care and reduce stress for new mothers.

Unique Services to Support Mental and Physical Health

Each stay at Ziva includes essential postpartum services, including daily meals, childcare, and access to postpartum classes. The retreat also offers an array of wellness services, including meditation and yoga classes tailored to mothers who are at least six weeks postpartum.

Ziva takes a holistic approach to recovery by partnering with The Peds MD LLC, a pediatric concierge service, to provide on-site baby care. Add-on services such as belly-binding, postpartum therapy, massages, manicures, and pedicures are available for those looking for additional relaxation and self-care.

Booking Your Stay at Ziva Postpartum Retreat

For mothers looking to experience this luxurious retreat, Ziva offers flexible packages with stays of three, five, or seven nights. It is recommended that reservations be made after 25 weeks of pregnancy to ensure the best experience.

The retreat is open to all postpartum parents, including adoptive parents, intended parents through surrogacy, and gestational carriers. Ziva is committed to making its services accessible and providing a comfortable environment for all parents during the challenging yet beautiful postpartum period.

Empowering New Mothers with Comprehensive Care

Ziva Postpartum Retreat is more than just a place to recover—it is an empowering space for new mothers to connect with their community while receiving top-notch care. Co-founder Lauren Hall expressed her excitement about the retreat’s mission, saying, “It’s the experience we dreamed of, and we are happy to make it an accessible reality for others.”

Ziva is a transformative space that offers new mothers a blend of luxury and practical support during the critical postpartum period. With its expert care, dedicated staff, and nurturing environment, it provides mothers with the opportunity to rest, heal, and bond with their newborns while experiencing the best in wellness and care.
