New York City turned into a hub of purpose and power this summer. From June 22 to 27, the Run The World Expo 2026 brought together Black women entrepreneurs, executives, and creatives. Now in its fifth year, the event has grown far beyond a typical conference.
Hosted by the Women In Power Collective, the expo focused on more than networking. It centered wellness, wealth building, and intentional leadership. MadameNoire covered the event for the second year in a row, capturing its biggest moments.
Run The World Expo 2026 Kicks Off With Financial Wellness Focus
The week of programming began on June 22. This first event partnered with JPMorgan Chase to spotlight financial wellness. Attendees dove into conversations about generational wealth and building lasting legacies.
This opening set the tone for everything that followed. Organizers wanted ambitious professionals to leave with real tools. They also wanted attendees to form relationships that could shape their careers going forward.
Money conversations remain central to this expo’s mission. Founder Kadeisha Placide has long emphasized wealth building. This year’s programming reflected that priority from day one.
Opening Ceremony Fireside Chat Highlights Community Building
June 25 brought the second annual Opening Ceremony. MadameNoire’s Managing Editor Danica Daniel sat down with Placide for a fireside chat. The conversation explored why the expo expanded into a citywide experience.
Placide spoke about creating space for founders to connect. As a business owner herself, she understands the value of visibility. She explained her thinking directly during the chat.
“As a small business owner myself, I think that it’s important to put us in spaces where there’s a multitude of people that can shop and as a way to expose your business,” Placide shared.
That mission carried through every event that followed. Organizers wanted more than networking. They wanted genuine community among Black women in business.
Wellness Day Blends Fitness With Sisterhood Before Summit
Before the main summit, attendees gathered for Wellness Day on June 26. The location was CycleBar Nomad, a local cycling studio. Guests started their morning with movement instead of meetings.
The high-energy cycling class served a bigger purpose. It helped guests break the ice before deeper conversations began. Placide explained why this format works so well for building connection.
“There’s something special about moving your body, kind of breaking the ice before the actual summit day, sweating with people working out, and just letting loose,” Placide told Daniel.
Riders cheered each other on throughout the workout. Laughter filled the studio between climbs. Afterward, guests recovered at a wellness station with hydration and self-care offerings. This balance of fitness and connection set an authentic tone for the weekend ahead.
Run The World Summit Day Delivers Bold Conversations
Sunday brought the main event: the Run The World Expo Summit. Hundreds of attendees filled the space for a full day of programming. Panels, fireside chats, and a market place filled the schedule.
Leaders from business, tech, wellness, and culture took the stage. Topics ranged from artificial intelligence to entrepreneurship. Speakers challenged attendees to think bigger about leadership and work.
The summit’s central theme tied everything together. Organizers called it “A Cultural Reset for How We Lead, Work, Create & Live.” This theme showed up across every panel and conversation throughout the day.
Founder Kadeisha Placide Shares Vision Beyond Networking
Placide spoke to MadameNoire about her larger goals for the expo. Her vision reaches beyond hosting a single event. She wants attendees to rethink what success actually means.
“Our vision has always been bigger than hosting an event,” Placide said. “We wanted to create a movement that reminds people that success should never come at the expense of our health, our humanity, or our relationships. The Run the World Expo is proof that leadership and wellness belong in the same conversation.”
This philosophy shaped every part of the week’s programming. Wellness wasn’t an afterthought. Instead, it stood alongside business strategy as a core value.
Small Business Marketplace Elevates Black Entrepreneurs
The summit included a market place for small business owners. Entrepreneurs showcased products and services to hundreds of attendees. This marketplace gave founders direct access to potential customers and partners.
Booths buzzed with activity throughout the day. Attendees shopped while building relationships with founders. This kind of visibility matters deeply for small business growth.
Placide’s own experience as a business owner informed this feature. She understands how much exposure matters for growth. The marketplace turned that understanding into action for dozens of entrepreneurs.
Social Capital Emerges As Key Theme Throughout Expo
Beyond speakers and panels, relationships stood out as the expo’s biggest strength. New business partnerships formed throughout the week. Careers shifted direction because of conversations that happened there.
Collaborations took shape between founders who met for the first time. Friendships emerged that will likely outlast the event itself. This reflects the Women In Power Collective’s core belief.
Social capital remains one of the most powerful drivers of success. Many attendees left with more than knowledge. They left with a network that could shape their next chapter.
Run The World Expo Signals A Growing Movement
By week’s end, one thing became clear. Run The World Expo is no longer just an annual event. It has become a genuine movement for Black women in business.
The event encourages leaders to build with intention. It also pushes attendees to prioritize wellness alongside ambition. Innovation matters, but not at the cost of humanity.
This balance defines what makes the expo different. Professional success and personal well-being can exist together. That message resonated throughout every event during the week.
