Kiyah Wright has spent years helping some of the biggest names in entertainment look their best. From Tyra Banks and Halle Berry to Ciara, Gabrielle Union, and Taraji P. Henson, the two-time Emmy Award-winning hairstylist has built a reputation as one of the most trusted experts in the beauty industry.

Now, Wright is taking her passion for healthy hair to the next level. After years of representing other brands and using their products on clients, she launched her own hair care company, Muze Hair. The move marks a major milestone in a career built on talent, expertise, and a deep understanding of Black hair.

Kiyah Wright Builds Muze Hair After Years of Industry Success

Wright’s journey into entrepreneurship came after years of working behind the scenes with celebrities and major beauty brands. Throughout her career, she helped create unforgettable looks while learning what hair truly needs to thrive.

However, she eventually decided it was time to build something of her own. Rather than continue promoting other companies, Wright stepped out on faith and launched Muze Hair. The brand reflects her personal approach to hair health and beauty.

Her decision highlights a growing trend among Black women entrepreneurs who are turning years of professional experience into successful businesses. By creating Muze Hair, Wright transformed her industry knowledge into a brand designed to serve consumers directly.

Muze Hair Takes Center Stage at Hip Hop Beauty Event

Wright recently showcased Muze Hair at Hip Hop Beauty during BET Awards weekend. The exhibition celebrates the impact Black women have made on Hip-Hop culture through beauty, fashion, and creativity.

Created by Thembisa Mshaka and Ashunta Sheriff, the event featured artwork, photography, and beauty experiences from several influential creators. Guests also explored work from photographer Keith Major, artist Mazi Smazi, and celebrity hairstylist and visual artist Stacy Gray.

At the event’s Beauty Bar, Wright connected directly with attendees while introducing them to Muze Hair products. Visitors were able to receive touch-ups and learn practical hair care advice from one of the industry’s most respected professionals.

Kiyah Wright Shares Essential Hair Care Tips for Healthy Hair

While discussing hair care, Wright emphasized an important point that many people overlook. According to her, healthy hair begins with a healthy scalp.

“Your scalp is an appendage of your skin, so if you don’t take care of your skin in any way, it’s going to affect the growth and the length and the health of your hair,” Wright explained.

Her advice reflects a science-based approach that focuses on long-term hair health rather than quick fixes. Many consumers focus only on styling products. However, Wright believes scalp care should be a priority for anyone seeking stronger, healthier hair.

Why Kiyah Wright Wants to Change the Hair Care Conversation

Wright also challenged traditional beauty marketing by encouraging consumers to pay closer attention to what truly affects hair growth and health.

“A lot of hair care brands think they know how to market, but let’s talk about the real hair follicle,” she said.

That philosophy appears to be a driving force behind Muze Hair. Instead of focusing only on appearance, the brand aims to educate consumers about the foundations of healthy hair.

As more Black consumers seek products backed by expertise and real-world results, Wright’s approach positions Muze Hair as more than just another beauty brand. It represents years of hands-on experience caring for diverse hair textures and helping clients maintain healthy, beautiful hair.

Black Women Entrepreneurs Continue Expanding the Beauty Industry

Wright’s transition from celebrity hairstylist to beauty entrepreneur highlights the growing influence of Black women in the beauty industry. More professionals are leveraging their expertise to create products that better address the needs of underserved communities.

Her success story also demonstrates the power of ownership. By launching Muze Hair, Wright gained the opportunity to shape conversations around hair health while creating products based on her own standards and experiences.

With decades of knowledge behind her and a growing brand in her hands, Wright is proving that expertise can become a powerful business asset. As Muze Hair continues to grow, her journey serves as inspiration for aspiring entrepreneurs looking to build something meaningful from their skills and passion.
