Metro Atlanta nonprofits have a new opportunity to secure larger funding to expand their work. Delta Community Credit Union has opened applications for its 2027 Philanthropic Fund Program, committing a total of $150,000 to organizations serving families and young people across the region.
The program marks a major change from previous years. Instead of offering grants of different sizes, the credit union will award ten equal grants of $15,000 each. Leaders say the new approach will allow more organizations to make a stronger impact in their communities.

Applications are now open for eligible nonprofit organizations serving metro Atlanta. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. EDT on Aug. 31 through the credit union’s online grant portal.
The updated program focuses on increasing the value of each grant rather than spreading smaller amounts across more funding levels. As a result, selected organizations will receive more financial support to grow their services and reach more people.
Delta Community Credit Union President and CEO Hank Halter said the larger grants reflect the organization’s long-term commitment to community development.
“These larger grant amounts will ensure our Philanthropic Fund Program continues to deliver meaningful support to deserving organizations and allow them to do even more,” Halter said.
He added:
“As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, we are proud to deepen our investment in local nonprofits that address the needs of metro Atlanta families and strengthen the communities we are privileged to serve.”

The grant program is open to nonprofit organizations whose work supports metro Atlanta families. Eligible groups must also promote household financial well-being while improving the physical and financial health of children and young adults.
