Angel Bryant Pledges Alpha Kappa Alpha at Spelman
Angel Bryant, twin sister to Adore, has proudly pledged the Mu Pi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Sorority, Incorporated at Spelman College. This marks a special milestone, representing three generations of her family in Divine Nine organizations.
Her mother, Gizelle Bryant, a member of the same sorority, shared her joy on Instagram. “CONGRATULATIONS ANGEL who is now my SOROR. Tears of joy and pride I have felt all day. LEGACY!” she wrote.
Angel’s father, Pastor Jamal Angel Bryant, also expressed pride. “The woman she is becoming is going to impact the world, influence a generation, and inspire the community. Give it up for sweet 16!”
A Family Legacy of Service and Leadership
Angel continues a strong family tradition. Her mother, Gizelle, pledged AKA at Hampton University and recently celebrated 35 years as a member. Her father, Jamal, is part of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
Angel’s older sisters are also thriving academically. Grace, the eldest, is a junior at Florida A&M University, while Adore currently studies at Hampton University. This makes the Bryant family a three-generation example of higher education and service.
The family’s commitment to Black culture and community leadership is evident. Angel’s pledge reinforces their influence within the Divine Nine, a group of historically Black Greek organizations that emphasize service, leadership, and excellence.
Celebrations and Special Moments
Gizelle shared a video showing Angel with her new sisters during the pledge ceremony. She posed for photos with several members, including co-star Jassi Rideaux, who is also a proud AKA.
The celebration highlighted both pride and joy. Angel’s family, friends, and sorority sisters gathered to honor her achievement, reinforcing the importance of mentorship and legacy in Black communities.
Angel’s pledge also connects her to notable peers. One of her Mu Pi chapter sisters is Zahara Jolie, daughter of Academy Award-winning actress Angelina Jolie, who pledged in 2023.
Inspiration for the Next Generation
Angel Bryant’s accomplishment is more than a personal milestone. It symbolizes legacy, empowerment, and dedication to community. Her parents’ support shows the importance of guidance and encouragement in achieving life goals.
Gizelle and Jamal’s pride is evident in their social media posts and words of affirmation. Their encouragement inspires young Black women to pursue higher education, leadership, and service opportunities.
As Angel steps into her new role, she not only honors her family but also sets an example for future generations of students, sisters, and community leaders.
Looking Ahead: A Continuing Legacy
With her pledge to AKA, Angel joins a long line of family members dedicated to service, leadership, and excellence. Her journey at Spelman College represents hope, inspiration, and the power of legacy.
The Bryant family’s story continues to highlight the importance of supporting Black women in education, leadership, and community engagement. Angel’s pledge reminds everyone that legacy is built one generation at a time.
