Taylor Mills Becomes the 42nd Miss Spelman College

Taylor Mills has officially been crowned Miss Spelman 2025. She won the 42nd Miss Spelman Pageant, held on April 13 at the historic Sisters Chapel on Spelman College’s campus in Southwest Atlanta.

The event featured six strong contestants, but Mills stood out with her charm, purpose, and powerful message. Her reign will represent the legacy of Spelman women while promoting academic excellence and self-expression.

TikTok Fame Gave Her a Bigger Stage

Before taking the crown, Mills had already captured attention online. Her pageant journey went viral on TikTok, where her introduction video earned over 422,000 views.

Contestants, including Mills, used the platform to tell their stories and connect with the public. Many viewers admitted they never knew about the HBCU pageant world until these videos appeared. For Mills, TikTok helped her platform grow far beyond campus.

A Reign Built on Authenticity and Purpose

Taylor Mills is not just a queen—she’s a changemaker. Her platform, Authentically Blue, focuses on encouraging students to live boldly and without fear.

“To remain AUTHENTIC is my CHOICE to CHANGE the world,” she wrote. Her campaign celebrated everything it means to be a Spelman woman—intelligent, artistic, driven, and complex.

A Message That Resonates With Black Women

Mills believes that Black women shouldn’t have to fit into one mold. “Spelman women are not a monolith,” she said. “It’s time to celebrate all our layers.”

With that in mind, she plans to use her time as Miss Spelman to uplift others. She wants every Spelman student to feel seen and valued, no matter how they choose to express themselves.

Honoring Tradition While Inspiring the Future

Winning Miss Spelman is about more than a title. It’s a tradition passed down through generations of student leaders. Mills now joins that legacy and carries it into the 2025-26 academic year.

“I’m very honored,” Mills told Channel 2 Action News. “I did this not only for myself but for my institution. I’m excited to showcase who we are as the number one HBCU.”

The Celebration Is Just Beginning

After being crowned, Mills shared a joyful message on Instagram:
“WE DID IT. I am honored to serve my institution as the 42nd Miss Spelman College… ‘Your Authenticity is Your SuperPower.’”

Her words, her energy, and her authenticity are already sparking change. Mills’ win is a reminder that confidence and purpose go hand in hand.
