Hafsah Abdur-Rahman was denied her ceremonial high school diploma by her principal for dancing on stage.
Philadelphia High School for Girls stated that her dance had breached their “no cheering” policy, which resulted in some attention from the audience.
“She stole that moment from me. I will never get that again. I was so embarrassed. I couldn’t even enjoy the rest of the graduation,” Abdur-Rahman told ABC 6.
Social media users are expressing their disappointment in the school’s decision to deny the student this monumental moment and Hafsah’s family is calling for a change to the rules.
Do you all think that the school was unjust? #BWLM💕
