Mary J. Blige & Pepsi Honor Black Women With New HBCU Scholarship

#MaryJBlige announced an HBCU scholarship to help “celebrate and advocate” for Black women as her Strength Of A Woman Festival returns this Mother’s Day weekend!

In partnership with Pepsi, The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul has established the scholarship to focus on “creating opportunities for connection and growth within the Atlanta community and beyond.”

The PepsiCo x Mary J. Blige Strength of a Woman Scholarship is part of the beverage company’s $200,000 donation, which funds local charities.

According to a recent press release, the scholarship’s recipient will be announced on Pepsi’s HBCU tour this fall.

“This year, with even more events for fans to experience, we want to recognize, celebrate, and support the voices of the community, Kent Montgomery, PepsiCo’s Senior Vice President of Industry Relations and Multicultural Development, said in a statement.

The Strength Of A Woman Festival and Summit returns to the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, GA on May 11th-14th with an all-star lineup including Mary J. Blige, Lauryn Hill, Summer Walker, Mike Epps, Lucky Daye, Coco Jones, Saucy Santana, Muni Long and even our CEO, Dr. @JamilaTDavis!
