On October 30, 2026, Christin Marie Studio put the bamboo hoop back on the table and called it a classic rather than a throwback. “We pay homage to the bamboo hoop because she is an iconic staple in Black women’s fashion,” said Christin Marie, the founder of the Los Angeles jewelry label. “This is that, reimagined.”
The piece is the Solstice Hoop, the first earring in a collection that until now has run to necklaces, bracelets and anklets. It goes on sale Friday, November 27, 2026, at christinmariestudio.com.
The brand behind it is three years old. In that time, it has become TikTok Shop’s number one jewelry brand, and it is a 2026 Glossy Fashion and Luxury Awards nominee for Best Use of TikTok Shop. Its own site describes handmade jewelry and curated designs, with materials the studio sources and tests itself, and a focus on size inclusivity, and it lists Vogue, Essence, Ebony and Refinery29 among the places it has been featured. It ran a Dreamscape pop-up at The Grove in Los Angeles.
Bamboo earrings were a fixture of the 1980s and 1990s. What is different about this one is who gets to decide what the shape means next, and that is the part worth watching for anyone building a product out of something their own people made first.
“The Solstice collection has become a fam favorite and a major part of the CMS legacy,” she said. “It only felt right to put our spin on a noteworthy classic with the first-ever Solstice earring.”
She was plainer than that too. “This one hits different,” she said. “This one is for the culture.”
The word she keeps using is classic, not trend. That is a claim about where the bamboo hoop sits in fashion history, and it is being made by the owner of the number one jewelry brand on TikTok Shop, about a shape Black women wore long before anybody built a business on it.
