Nivea is in remission from leukemia, and on the Tamron Hall Show on October 7, 2026, she spent less of the conversation on the illness than on her night classes. She is studying audio engineering.
“I’ve always had an engineering mind,” she told the host and the audience. “I’m in love with sound in general.”
She is the singer behind Don’t Mess With My Man, and the project she is preparing is her first major one in about twenty years. She is also working with a vocal coach for the first time in her career. The album, she said, will carry “a lot more very relatable topics” and will sound “a lot more soulful than people have heard from me in the past.” She previewed a song called Ferris Wheel live on the show.
“I’m very grateful,” she said.
She had first spoken publicly about her health in July. She gave no release date for the album on the show, and none has been announced since.
