Victoria Monet’s second album, Frequency of Love, is out today, October 2, 2026.
She announced the release date on Instagram with one line. “On Friday, we are so back,” she wrote.
The album follows Jaguar II, the 2023 record that turned more than a decade of writing songs for other artists into a Grammy-winning debut under her own name. The lead single from the new album, “Reach Out,” arrived ahead of it.
According to a report published October 1, 2026, Monet is pairing the release with a listening setup built on Ray-Ban Meta audio glasses at ComplexCon. The glasses use open-ear audio, which sends sound toward the ear without sealing it off, so a room of people can each hear a full mix while still hearing each other. The activation includes a private silent listening session for the album, a question-and-answer session with Monet, and a contest for tour tickets.
It is a small choice that says something about how she works. A silent listening room is the opposite of a stadium rollout. Everyone in it hears the same record at the same time; nobody talks over it, and the artist is standing right there while they do.
That patience is the whole shape of her career. Monet spent years as one of the most in-demand songwriters in R&B while most listeners could not have picked her out of a lineup. The move from writing for other people to releasing under her own name has been slow and deliberate, and Frequency of Love is only her second full-length album in that second act.
The October 1 report did not include tour dates beyond the ticket contest, and no further singles were announced alongside the release.
For Black women in music, the long game is the point. Plenty of women have written the song that made somebody else famous and never got their own name on a marquee for it. Monet did the writing, kept the credits, and then came back and took the front of the stage on her own schedule.
Frequency of Love is available today.
