First Black Female-Owned Cannabis Dispensary Opens in Roselle, New Jersey
A major milestone has taken place in Roselle, New Jersey. Janna Williams has opened what is reported as the first Black female-owned, disabled veteran-owned cannabis dispensary in the state.
The grand opening happened on May 16, 2026. The store is located at 731 E. St. Georges Street in Roselle. It operates under the name Roll Models.
Williams said her goal is to change how people view cannabis use. She also wants to support healing, especially for veterans dealing with mental health challenges.

Williams is a disabled veteran who has openly shared her struggle with PTSD. She explained that traditional treatment at the VA included opioid prescriptions, which did not work for her.
Instead, she explored more holistic options. She said cannabis helped her manage anxiety and PTSD symptoms better.
According to Williams, her journey is not only personal. It is also about helping others who feel unheard in the system.
From Military Service to Community Leadership in Roselle
Before opening the dispensary, Williams served in the U.S. Air Force. After her service, she moved to New Jersey and built strong community ties.
She also served on the Roselle Board of Education and the planning board. This gave her a deeper connection to local residents and leadership.
Her business location came through a community conversation at a local bakery. That moment helped turn her idea into reality.
Roll Models Dispensary and Veteran-Focused Business Values
The dispensary, Roll Models, also reflects Williams’ long-term advocacy for veterans. She founded a nonprofit called Vets4U. The group supports military families with food, clothing, and resources.
Her business model continues that mission. Even the product supplier is veteran-owned, reinforcing her focus on supporting the veteran community.
Williams said her work is about action, not just words. She emphasized that helping others gives her purpose and strength.
