Howard University students took center stage at this year’s Spring Fest with a full runway show sponsored by eos. The event featured twelve student designers who presented original fashion collections inspired by the brand’s fragrance mist line.

The runway show was held as part of a five-day Spring Fest celebration on campus. Each student designer created a unique collection based on a different scent, turning fragrance ideas into wearable fashion pieces.

Attendees also received full-size fragrance mists, adding a direct connection between the runway looks and the products that inspired them.

eos used the Spring Fest runway to give students a professional platform to showcase their creativity. The concept challenged designers to use scent as inspiration for fashion, a unique approach not commonly seen in student fashion shows.

According to student co-head of styling Nigel Johnson, the opportunity meant more than just exposure. “They’re not just showcasing emerging designers, they’re amplifying our ideas and giving us freedom to experiment,” he said. “That kind of support is rare.”

This partnership highlighted a growing focus on student-led creativity and real-world experience in fashion spaces.

Howard University Students Turn Fragrance Inspiration Into Original Fashion Collections

Howard University designers created full collections using fragrance mists as their starting point. Each look represented a different scent, translated into fabric, shape, and style.

Some designers also used upcycled materials to build their outfits, showing a commitment to sustainability alongside creativity. Minnesota Cook, a student co-head of styling, said the experience helped young creatives express themselves freely while working with a major brand.

The final runway included a mix of bold, experimental, and structured designs that reflected the individuality of each student designer.

Spring Fest Fashion Show Features Performances, Culture, and Student Production Talent

The Spring Fest runway experience went beyond fashion alone. The show also featured performances and curated styling moments that reflected the energy of campus culture.

Rapper Monaleo and reality personality Serena Page appeared during the intermission in student-designed looks, adding star power to the event. The production team emphasized how important it was to highlight Black creativity in a space filled with different cultural perspectives.

Kaitlyn “KD” Dorsey, the head of production, said the experience was meaningful for student growth. She noted that working on a large-scale event at Howard helped shape her journey in theater technology and production work.

eos Campus Activation Brings Fragrance Experience Directly to Students

Beyond the runway, eos also hosted a “Recharge Station” pop-up on campus. The activation featured fragrance-themed ice cream carts and product sampling stations where students explored lotions and lip care products.

Scents such as Vanilla Cashmere, Strawberry Dream, and Crème de Pistachio were matched with themed experiences that drew strong student interest throughout the day.

This activation built on eos’ earlier campus outreach efforts, including a multi-school tour that reached thousands of students across several universities before arriving at Howard.

Howard University Spring Fest Strengthens Student Visibility in Fashion and Creative Industries

Howard University continues to position itself as a hub for Black student creativity, especially in fashion and design. The Spring Fest runway reinforced the school’s role in developing emerging talent.

By partnering with eos, students were able to present their work in a structured runway environment with real audience engagement and brand backing.

Overall, the event showed how campus-based creative programs can connect students to larger industry opportunities while still celebrating culture and individuality.
