Relief Fund Launches Third Round of Grants for Black Women

A new round of support has opened for Black women facing job loss in 2025. The Global State of Women Relief Fund has announced another cycle of one-time cash grants worth $500 to $1,500. The support aims to help women dealing with sudden unemployment, unexpected expenses, and financial strain.

The fund has already offered two rounds of grants this year. In September, the organization awarded 66 grants. Then on December 1, it issued two Expert Creator awards worth $2,500 each. This third round continues its effort to fill the growing financial gaps many Black women are facing.

According to the organizers, the need is rising sharply. The fund noted that applications have been “overwhelming.” Yet it is still encouraging more women to apply before the December 21 deadline. Anyone who already applied will be automatically considered.

Financial Support for Black Women Facing Major Job Losses

More than 300,000 Black women lost their jobs in 2025. Many of the job cuts happened after DEI programs were dismantled and government shifts created instability. The layoffs affected caregivers, single mothers, and women in industries hit by mass restructuring.

The Global State of Women Relief Fund hopes to help reduce this impact. Priority will go to Black women who are unemployed or navigating new financial hardship. However, the organization says everyone is welcome to submit an application.

Organizers explain that this moment requires focused care. They say their mission is to offer support as women manage financial pressure, job transitions, and caregiving challenges. The fund continues to raise more resources to meet the growing demand.

Nonprofit and Partner Organizations Expand Support

The initiative is sponsored by Teknique Cares, a nonprofit focused on beauty and wellness. The organization has worked closely with the Global State of Women to keep the fund active throughout the year. The partnership has helped increase the number of grants available.

Meanwhile, founder Valeisha Butterfield continues to guide the larger mission. Butterfield created the Global State of Women as an international platform for advocacy and research. Her team also produces State of Women Reports to track progress and address racial and gender gaps across key sectors.

The Relief Fund remains one of the organization’s most active efforts in 2025. As the year closes, the group hopes the new grant cycle will reach women who are still navigating sudden life changes and economic instability.

Application Details and Deadline for New Grants

Applicants can request between $500 and $1,500 during this new round. The organization says funds will be awarded based on need and available resources. While demand is high, organizers encourage anyone struggling to apply.

Applicants must submit materials by December 21. Past applicants do not need to reapply. Their original submissions will be reviewed again during this cycle.

The fund hopes the extended timeline gives more women a chance to receive help as they head into the new year. It continues to gather additional resources to support more families during this period of disruption.
