Cardi B Shines With Pregnant Performance in Central Park
Cardi B lit up the Global Citizen Festival in New York’s Central Park with a powerful set. Despite being heavily pregnant, the Bronx rapper delivered high-energy performances of her biggest hits and new tracks from Am I The Drama?.
The crowd cheered as Cardi showed once again that pregnancy does not slow her down. Fans remembered that she promoted her first album Invasion of Privacy while pregnant with her daughter Kulture. She also made appearances while carrying her son Wave. On this night, Cardi proved she could still command the stage while embracing motherhood.
Her presence set the tone for a night filled with strong performances and global unity.
Tyla Brings Afrobeats Energy and Global Inspiration
South African star Tyla followed with a show full of Afrobeats rhythms and international flair. The “Water” singer reflected on her journey with Global Citizen, recalling her first time attending the festival in South Africa.
“It’s actually crazy that I’m performing here,” Tyla said. “The first time I came to Global Citizen was when they came to South Africa. And I’m telling you it was a bargain. All I did was fill in a survey and I saw Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Pharrell. I saw Usher’s butt-crack in 3D, I’m telling you. And the fact that I’m on this stage is amazing.”
During her set, Tyla even stopped the show to check on a fan in distress, pausing until she got the all-clear. The moment reminded audiences that artistry and care can go hand in hand.
Arya Starr Adds Nigerian Power to the Lineup
Another standout was Nigerian singer Arya Starr, who joined the roster of global talent. Known for her soulful voice and confident stage presence, she brought Afropop heat to Central Park.
Fans danced and sang along to her hits, recognizing her as part of a new wave of African artists gaining worldwide attention. Her performance showed how the festival continues to spotlight Black women creating culture across continents.
Arya Starr’s set helped prove that the future of global music is deeply tied to Africa’s influence and artistry.
A Night of Unity and Global Sounds
While Black women stars dominated much of the energy, the festival also featured Mariah the Scientist, Rema, Rosé from Blackpink, and Colombian icon Shakira. Shakira closed the night, uniting the crowd with her signature mix of global sounds and cultural pride.
Together, the artists brought attention to the mission of Global Citizen: using music to inspire action against poverty, inequality, and injustice. But above all, Cardi B, Tyla, and Arya Starr showed the world the brilliance, resilience, and power of Black women on stage.
