Venus Williams Set for Tennis Comeback at DC Open

Venus Williams is ready to return to the court. After a 16-month break, the tennis legend will play at the Mubadala Citi DC Open, held from July 21 to 27, 2025. She accepted a wild card entry to compete in the WTA 500 hardcourt tournament in Washington, D.C.

Fans around the world are excited to see her back in action. Known for her strength and grace, Venus brings star power and legacy to every tournament. “There’s something truly special about DC: the energy, the fans, the history… This city has always shown me so much love, and I can’t wait to compete there again!” she said.

Venus Williams Returns After 16 Months Away

This will be Venus’ first official match since taking a break in 2024. During that time, she focused on rest, health, and personal projects. Now, she’s stepping back into competitive tennis with determination and excitement.

The DC Open is known for drawing top talent and enthusiastic crowds. With Venus now in the mix, fans are expecting thrilling matches and emotional moments. Rising star Coco Gauff will also be competing, adding to the excitement.
