Megan Thee Stallion Prepares to Launch Her First-Ever Gala
Megan Thee Stallion is taking her impact beyond music. On July 16, she will host her first Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala at Gotham Hall in New York City. The event will shine a spotlight on inspiring Black women and girls who are making real change.
Two standout honorees will be recognized: LaTosha Brown, the founder of the Southern Black Girls & Women’s Consortium, and 13-year-old Mila Henry, who started a nonprofit called MH Boxes to support the mental health of Black girls.
Honoring Changemakers: LaTosha Brown and Mila Henry
LaTosha Brown is well known for her work empowering Black women and girls in the American South. She is also the co-founder of Black Voters Matter. Her organization, SBGWC, has given over $10.2 million to 220 projects across 13 states.
Mila Henry, despite her young age, has already made a big impact. She started MH Boxes at just 12 years old, creating care packages filled with journals, affirmations, and self-care tools. Her goal is to help young Black girls feel supported and empowered in their mental health journeys.
A Star-Studded Night with a Powerful Purpose
The gala will not only celebrate changemakers but also feature major stars. Taraji P. Henson will host the evening. Muni Long and DJ D-Nice are set to entertain the guests. The guest list includes celebrities and leaders who support the foundation’s mission.
All proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorships will support programs in education, housing, health, and wellness for underserved communities. Megan’s goal is to raise funds and awareness to help those who are often overlooked.
The Pete & Thomas Foundation: Megan’s Gift to the Community
Megan Thee Stallion started the Pete & Thomas Foundation in 2022. She named it after her late parents, Holly Thomas and Joseph Pete. The foundation supports women, children, and seniors, especially in Houston and beyond.
According to its website, the foundation offers resources that drive “meaningful and positive change” in key areas like education and wellness. Megan has used her platform to build a growing legacy of support, showing that her passion for change runs deep.
A New Tradition Begins for Black Women Leadership
This gala marks the start of a new tradition. By honoring LaTosha and Mila, Megan is showing the power of supporting Black women across generations.
“LaTosha and Mila represent two generations of visionary Black leadership,” said SBGWC’s executive director, Chanceé Lundy. “Their bond proves that when we invest in Black girls—whether 13 or 53—we cultivate changemakers who are capable of rewriting the future.”
Brown also praised Mila, saying, “She turned her vision into a healing movement, meeting the needs of her peers with compassion and creativity.”
Megan Thee Stallion Continues to Uplift and Inspire
With this gala, Megan is sending a clear message: Black women matter, their ideas matter, and their leadership matters. The event is more than a night of glamour—it’s a call to action.
As Megan brings people together to honor changemakers, she continues to use her voice to make space for the next generation of leaders.
