Matriarch Hits #1 on the New York Times Bestseller List
Tina Knowles has officially become a bestselling author. Her new book Matriarch is now the #1 New York Times Bestseller. The proud author, mother, and designer shared her excitement on Instagram, writing:
“I never dreamed that this day would come! Thank y’all for all the support and everyone who bought the book. God is good!”
The book, which celebrates motherhood, identity, and Black womanhood, has touched readers all over the world. Its success is proof of the deep connection fans feel to her story and her powerful legacy.
A Star-Studded Book Tour Kicks Off in D.C.
Tina Knowles launched her nine-city book tour, Matriarch: An Evening with Tina Knowles, Family and Friends, on April 30. The first stop was at MGM National Harbor Hotel and Casino in Washington, D.C., and it was nothing short of iconic.
Michelle Obama hosted the evening. She welcomed the crowd with the words:
“Rest yourself. It’s going to be a night.”
The event featured singing, laughter, dancing, and storytelling. Grammy winner Ledisi opened with her song “Blkwmn,” calling it a tribute to Black women everywhere.
Intimate Stories and Strong Support From Family and Icons
Throughout the evening, Knowles shared personal stories and family photos. She opened up about life, love, and her journey as a mother to Beyoncé and Solange.
“I just love mothering. It’s my gift I think God gave to me,” she said.
Knowles also spoke on the power of telling your own story.
“You don’t have to publish a book, but leave it for your great-grandchildren, so they can know your story.”
Virtual messages of love came from Oprah Winfrey, Beyoncé, Solange, and Kelly Rowland. Oprah even named Matriarch the newest pick for Oprah’s Book Club.
A Book About Strength, Legacy, and Black Womanhood
Matriarch was released on April 22. In it, Knowles reflects on her life, family, struggles, and faith. She also writes about the values she passed on to her daughters and why knowing your roots matters.
When announcing the book last year, she said:
“I have always been a storyteller… I believed my daughters needed to know where they came from in order to know where they were going.”
Her story is more than personal. It is a tribute to strong Black women and the families they lead.
What’s Next for the Matriarch Book Tour
The tour continues across the U.S. and will end in London on June 4. Future events will feature big names like Keke Palmer and Gayle King. Each stop promises more unforgettable moments with Tina and her special guests.
The next event will take place in Los Angeles on May 2. Fans can expect heartfelt talks, inspiring stories, and more celebrations of Black excellence.
