The Disney Dreamers Academy celebrated its 18th year of inspiring youth during an unforgettable commencement ceremony at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. From March 26 to March 30, 100 ambitious and talented students gathered for an immersive program designed to empower them for future success. With the help of notable mentors, these young individuals received the tools and skills necessary to make their dreams a reality.

A Star-Studded Celebration of Young Talent

On March 30, the culmination of this year’s Disney Dreamers Academy was celebrated in grand style. The event brought together an impressive lineup of celebrity mentors, including Abbott Elementary star Tyler James Williams, radio personality Rickey Smiley, and actors David and Tamela Mann. Together, they guided the students throughout the four-day event, providing mentorship and inspiration to help the students grow personally and professionally.

Williams, who hosted the ceremony and served as the program’s official DREAMbassador, was a major highlight. In his commencement speech, he praised the students for their resilience and growth throughout the program. “What I’ve seen in you all is nothing short of extraordinary. You’re going to go out into the world and make incredible strides,” said Williams, encouraging the students to keep moving forward with confidence.

Empowering Future Leaders with Valuable Skills

Throughout the four-day event, students were exposed to a variety of workshops and classes aimed at developing skills that will help them stand out in the workplace. Business leaders and educators provided one-on-one guidance, covering topics like networking, dressing for success, and public speaking. These lessons are crucial for helping the students build a strong foundation as they move forward in their careers.

The program also provided the students with the opportunity to network with influential professionals and receive personalized feedback on their aspirations. As part of the experience, participants enjoyed complimentary airfare, hotel accommodations, and theme park tickets for themselves and a parent or guardian.

Unique Opportunities for Exceptional Students

The Disney Dreamers Academy is known for providing once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for students. This year, two standout students, Sydney Gilmore and Zane Stevenson, were invited by Tyler James Williams to visit the set of Abbott Elementary, marking an unforgettable moment in their journeys.

Additionally, Colin Sproles, the student body president of Little Rock Central High School, was named Disney Dreamer of the Year by his peers and judges. He received a prestigious honor, including a special trip back to Walt Disney World and a Disney Cruise Line voyage, recognizing his leadership and dedication.

Other remarkable students received invitations to further their career exploration. Alex Onwuli from Houston, Texas, will embark on an educational trip with National Geographic to Washington, D.C. Tristian Williams from Pompano Beach, Florida, will experience the Zero-G Astronaut Experience, and Charlie Arnold from Phillipsburg, New Jersey, will gain new insights into filmmaking with a private tour of Dolby Studios in Hollywood, California.

Celebrating the Achievements of the Class of 2025

As the ceremony came to a close, the students received their class rings, symbolizing their commitment to the Disney Dreamers Academy program. The event celebrated their hard work, dreams, and the community of support that will continue to encourage them as they pursue their futures.

The Disney Dreamers Academy continues to be a platform for young dreamers, providing them with the guidance, mentorship, and opportunities they need to make lasting strides in their chosen fields. The Class of 2025 has now joined a network of accomplished alumni, all bound together by the shared experience of the academy’s transformative program.
