Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour is not just a celebration of music; it’s a movement honoring Black culture’s deep roots in Western history. With a bold blend of country and contemporary, fans are searching for the perfect outfits that embody the tour’s essence. Thankfully, several Black-owned brands are redefining Western fashion, offering stylish cowboy hats, boots, and apparel.

B.Stone Western Wear: Blending Western Flair with Urban Edge

Founded in 2022, B.Stone Western Wear brings a modern twist to classic Western style. Based in Houston, Texas, the brand was born from Dymond Taylor’s desire to see more Black representation in Western fashion.

“My partner was a professional cowboy, and I traveled with him to rodeos,” Taylor shares. “I struggled to find outfits that reflected my style, so I created my own.”

B.Stone offers ready-to-wear cowboy hats, jackets, and custom sets featuring fringe and chaps. For those looking to make a bold statement at Cowboy Carter, B.Stone provides made-to-order designs tailored to each customer’s vision.

KIN Apparel: Protect Your Hair in Style

KIN Apparel is making waves with satin-lined cowboy hats designed to protect natural hair while keeping Western fashion fresh. Launching on April 1st, the collection includes white, black, and tan options in multiple sizes.

Philomena Kane, the brand’s founder, first gained recognition on Shark Tank in 2021. After struggling with hair damage from standard cotton hoodies, she developed satin-lined hoodies and expanded into accessories. Now, KIN Apparel’s new cowboy hats ensure that fans can rock their look without sacrificing hair health.

Washington Ave: Vintage Western with a Unique Twist

Lakeitha Washington, founder of Washington Ave, combines her love for thrifting with Western-inspired designs. Originally selling curated vintage pieces on Etsy, she expanded into custom designs for Houston’s rodeo scene.

“I plan to create a look for each song on the Cowboy Carter tour,” Washington reveals. “I want my Ave Girls to stand out at every concert.”

From denim reworks to handcrafted accessories, Washington Ave offers one-of-a-kind pieces that merge classic cowboy aesthetics with modern fashion.

Monrowe NYC: Timeless Hats with Jazz-Era Influence

Brooklyn-based Monrowe NYC, founded by model-turned-milliner Dani Evans, brings a jazz-inspired edge to Western headwear. Her hats, crafted from wool, veiled straw, and ethically sourced seagrass, embody the aesthetic of her grandfather, a Southern jazz musician.

“These are the hats he would have worn, reimagined for today’s world,” Evans explains. Each piece is handcrafted, blending classic Western silhouettes with a contemporary, artistic touch.

MCD Boots & Things: Cowboy Boots for Every Occasion

No Western look is complete without the right boots. MCD Boots & Things, founded by Genia Moses-Buck in 2022, offers high-quality leather, cowhide, and suede boots for all ages.

“Boots aren’t just fashion; they’re legacy,” Moses-Buck emphasizes. “Unlike sneakers, you can restore and pass down cowboy boots for generations.”

For first-time buyers, she recommends square-toe styles for comfort and rubber soles for grip. Her expertise has earned her the nickname “The Boot Lady” in her community.

Why Black-Owned Western Fashion Matters

Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter is more than an album; it highlights the overlooked role of Black pioneers in country music and Western culture. From Stagecoach Mary, the first Black female mail carrier, to artists like DeFord Bailey and Linda Martell, Black history has long shaped the cowboy aesthetic. Supporting these Black-owned brands is a way to celebrate that legacy while stepping into the concert with an unforgettable look.
