Wendy Williams Scores 10/10 on Psych Evaluation

Wendy Williams has taken a bold step in proving her critics wrong. The 60-year-old former talk show host recently scored a perfect 10/10 on a psychological evaluation, challenging claims about her mental health. This test result could play a major role in her ongoing fight against her court-ordered guardianship.

Williams underwent the evaluation at Lennox Hospital after authorities were called to her assisted living facility. The call came after she reportedly dropped a note from her fifth-floor window that read, “Help! Wendy!!” The note raised concerns about her well-being, prompting an ambulance to take her for assessment.

What the Psych Test Means for Williams’ Future

The evaluation Williams took is called a “capacity test.” It is designed to assess an individual’s cognitive abilities, especially in older adults who may be at risk for dementia. The test includes questions about personal details, current events, and memory recall.

Williams’ perfect score suggests she is mentally capable, contradicting her frontotemporal dementia diagnosis. Her results could influence the judge overseeing her guardianship case. If the court acknowledges her mental competence, she may be one step closer to regaining control over her life and finances.

Wendy Williams Fights for Her Independence

For months, Williams has been vocal about her struggle under guardianship. She has described her living situation as restrictive, comparing it to a prison. “I am not cognitively impaired, but I feel like I am in prison,” she said during an interview in January.

The former talk show host has also shared frustrations about being placed in a facility with elderly residents who suffer from severe cognitive impairments. “I’m in this place with people who are in their 90s and 80s… These people, there’s something wrong with them,” she expressed.

Support from Her Caregiver and Public Attention

Williams’ caregiver, Ginalisa Monterroso, has been a key advocate in her fight for freedom. Monterroso pushed for Williams to receive an independent medical evaluation and insisted that police escort her from the assisted living home for assessment.

Williams’ case has drawn public attention, with many of her fans and supporters questioning whether her guardianship is truly necessary. The growing debate has sparked discussions about how legal systems handle guardianships, especially for celebrities with significant financial assets.

A Possible Path to Freedom

Despite the challenges, there are signs of progress. In February, Williams was granted permission to leave her facility temporarily to attend her father’s 94th birthday celebration. Now, with her capacity test results expected to reach the court, there is hope that she will regain control over her own life.

Williams’ story is a reminder of the complexities surrounding guardianship laws and the importance of mental health evaluations in legal cases. As she continues to fight for her independence, her supporters remain hopeful that she will soon reclaim her freedom.
