DJ Stormy Monroe Shines as Super Bowl LIX Official DJ
DJ Stormy Monroe, the Atlanta-based music sensation, has taken center stage as the official DJ for Super Bowl LIX. The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs faced off in the big game, but before the action began, Monroe set the tone with her electrifying beats. Returning to her hometown of New Orleans, she brought her unique blend of Southern Hip Hop and diverse sounds to the Caesars Superdome, captivating fans worldwide.

Monroe’s journey to this moment has been nothing short of inspiring. A former corporate executive, she left her banking career to pursue music full-time in 2018. Since then, she has become a trailblazer in the male-dominated DJ industry, earning respect for her professionalism and ability to connect with diverse audiences.

From Corporate Life to Super Bowl Stardom
Monroe’s path to the Super Bowl stage wasn’t straightforward. She initially entered the music industry as an EDM artist before transitioning to DJing in 2015. “I started DJing part-time until 2018 when I left my corporate career as a VP in banking to become a DJ full-time,” she shared. Her bold decision paid off, leading to opportunities on some of the world’s biggest stages.

As a woman in a male-dominated field, Monroe faced challenges but remained focused. “I’ve experienced sexism, but I surround myself with positive, supportive people,” she said. Her dedication to professionalism and her ability to adapt have been key to her success.

A Homecoming for the New Orleans Native
For Monroe, performing at Super Bowl LIX was a full-circle moment. Born and raised in New Orleans, she grew up immersed in the city’s rich musical culture. “Growing up in New Orleans, I listened to everything from jazz and gospel to bounce and hip hop,” she explained. This diverse background has shaped her sound, making her a perfect fit for the Super Bowl’s global audience.

Monroe’s connection to New Orleans runs deep. She attended Edna Karr High School and graduated from Dillard University. “To DJ on the main stage for the Super Bowl in my hometown is the ultimate honor,” she said. Her performance not only celebrated her roots but also highlighted the city’s cultural significance.

Crafting the Perfect Super Bowl Setlist
Preparing for a performance of this magnitude requires careful planning. Monroe worked closely with the NFL production team to create a setlist that would resonate with the diverse crowd. “I’m intentional about playing music that appeals to everyone,” she said. Her set included hits from artists like Flo Rida, Pitbull, and Bruno Mars, with a special emphasis on Southern Hip Hop.

Monroe’s ability to read the crowd is one of her greatest strengths. “I always watch the audience and adjust based on their energy,” she explained. This skill ensures that her performances are dynamic and engaging, even in high-pressure settings like the Super Bowl.

A Rising Star with Big Plans Ahead
Monroe’s Super Bowl performance is just the latest milestone in her rapidly growing career. After the game, she will resume touring with Grammy-winning R&B group 112 as their official DJ. Fans can also look forward to seeing her on national TV again, though details remain under wraps.

Reflecting on her journey, Monroe remains grateful for the opportunities she’s had. “I’m just thankful the NFL keeps booking me,” she said. Her ability to connect with audiences and deliver unforgettable performances ensures that her star will continue to rise.
