Gabrielle Union is bringing her beauty expertise to the forefront with a curated IPSY Icon Box for Black History Month. Set to launch on February 1, the box is a celebration of self-expression, health, and confidence. The actress, entrepreneur, and founder of Flawless by Gabrielle Union has carefully selected makeup, skincare, and hair products that reflect her belief in the power of beauty to showcase authentic individuality.

Empowering Self-Expression Through Beauty

Union’s Icon Box is more than just a collection of beauty products. It’s a journey of self-love and self-expression. The box highlights Union’s passion for helping people embrace their true selves, shedding societal expectations and focusing on what makes them feel confident.

“I believe beauty is a journey, and through this collaboration, I hope to empower people to embrace their unique layers with unapologetic confidence,” Union shared in a press release. The carefully chosen products in this box encourage women to redefine their beauty standards and feel empowered in their skin.

Curated Products from Iconic Brands

Union’s Black History Month collection includes a diverse range of brands that she admires. The box features beauty staples from LYS Beauty, Kosas, Elemis, Benefit Cosmetics, and Union’s own brand, Flawless by Gabrielle Union. These handpicked items are designed to enhance every aspect of beauty, from skincare essentials to flawless makeup and hair care products.

Union hopes this carefully curated selection will inspire others to experiment with new looks and feel more connected to their beauty journey. “I want people to celebrate the many versions of themselves and find the looks that make them feel confident,” she explained.

Celebrating Black Joy and Beauty

Alongside the release of the Icon Box, Union will narrate IPSY’s social campaign, “Black Joy Is Beautiful.” This initiative will highlight the importance of embracing one’s authentic self, especially in the context of Black culture. A short film celebrating Black joy will debut at the beginning of February, showcasing how beauty can be a form of personal expression and cultural pride.

Throughout Black History Month, IPSY will feature additional content celebrating the resilience and vibrancy of the Black community. The campaign will also showcase inspiring stories of Black beauty across their platforms, reinforcing the message of embracing one’s natural beauty.

Inspiring Future Generations of Creators

To further support the creative community, IPSY’s February Limited Edition Mystery Bags will feature designs inspired by hair, created by students from Project Level. This Bay Area nonprofit empowers underserved youth by nurturing their creative skills, particularly in the arts. These bags will help amplify young voices, connecting beauty and creativity in a meaningful way.
