Atlanta graphic designer John-Paul Moore has created a beautiful artwork to honor the late news anchor Jovita Moore. This tribute coincides with what would have been her 57th birthday. His piece not only celebrates her life but also keeps her memory alive in the hearts of the community.

A Heartfelt Tribute to a Beloved Figure

John-Paul Moore’s latest work features several images of Jovita Moore, showcasing her remarkable career that spanned over two decades. His aim was to capture the essence of her legacy and the profound impact she had on the Atlanta community. Speaking to WSB-TV, he stated, “These tributes are a way to keep their legacy alive, so they’re not forgotten.”

The graphic designer has previously created art for other notable figures, such as James Earl Jones and Frankie Beverly. However, this tribute holds special significance for him. “I really love the fact that she looks so happy,” he shared. “It tells a great story of her life.”

Jovita Moore’s Legacy Lives On

Jovita Moore was a cherished face in Atlanta households, having worked at WSB-TV since 1998. She brought warmth and professionalism to her role, becoming a trusted news source for many families. Despite battling a rare form of brain cancer, she continued to serve her community with dedication. Sadly, she passed away in October 2021.

John-Paul Moore believes it is crucial to remember her legacy. “I just think it’s important that we never forget her and we keep her memory alive,” he said. He described her as “a treasure, definitely an Atlanta, Georgia, and American treasure.”

The Community Remembers

The impact of Jovita Moore extends beyond her time on television. The Jaguar Foundation has established an HBCU scholarship in her name, recognizing her contributions to the community and her commitment to education. She was actively involved with the foundation as a board member and emcee, further solidifying her legacy.

Additionally, her former employer organized the Jovita Walk in collaboration with the National Brain Tumor Society. This event aims to raise awareness about brain cancer while honoring her memory. Through these efforts, the community continues to celebrate Jovita Moore’s life and contributions.

John-Paul Moore’s tribute serves as a reminder of the positive influence Jovita had on countless lives. As the community gathers to celebrate her life, her spirit remains a guiding light for many.
