Historic Fundraising Boosts Kamala Harris’s Campaign
Win With Black Women has achieved another remarkable milestone, raising $2.5 million for Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign. This achievement brings them more than halfway to their ambitious $4.7 million goal for the “4 for 47 Campaign.” The organization’s momentum is palpable as they rally support for Harris in the crucial upcoming election.
Massive Turnout and Fundraising Success
On July 21, Win With Black Women held a groundbreaking Zoom call that attracted over 40,000 Black women and raised an impressive $1 million in just three hours. This event, combined with recent efforts, has contributed to the $2.4 million raised through the Brown Girls Fundraising Collective. The significant funds reflect a powerful show of unity and commitment.
Powerful Voices Rally for Change
A July 28 Zoom meeting further boosted the campaign, featuring prominent Black women leaders, activists, and several Congresswomen. The session focused on planning for the Democratic National Convention and strategizing state-level organizing efforts. According to Jotaka Eaddy, Founder of Win With Black Women, “Our democracy is at stake, and we continue to rally behind Vice President Kamala Harris so she can take her place as the next President of the United States.”
Celebrating Milestones and Building Momentum
Sunday’s meeting celebrated the organization’s achievements and highlighted the collective efforts to support Harris. Eaddy praised the movement’s growth, stating, “The growth and momentum of this movement just goes to show what Black women and our allies have known all along: we are a political, social, economic, and spiritual force to be reckoned with – and we are just getting started.”
Expanding Outreach and Engagement
In addition to fundraising, the campaign has made strides in reaching more voters. Vice President Harris’s recent appearances at Black sorority conventions and the launch of a new text message program are designed to keep supporters informed and engaged. Eaddy emphasized the broad impact of Black women voters, saying, “When we go to polls, we don’t just take ourselves. We take our households, our communities, our churches, our sororities, and our community groups.”
