Beyoncé Makes Monumental $500K Donation to Cosmetology Schools Nationwide

Queen Bey’s Generous Gift to Aspiring Cosmetologists

In a monumental act of generosity, Beyoncé has donated a staggering $500,000 to cosmetology schools across the nation. The global icon’s BeyGOOD x Cécred Fund aims to uplift and empower the next generation of stylists, providing them with the resources and opportunities to pursue their dreams.

Scholarship Partners and Diverse Recipients

The funds will be distributed as scholarships to ten cosmetology schools nationwide, carefully selected for their dedication to providing quality education and supporting diverse communities. Among the recipients are Jana’s Cosmetology Academy in New Jersey, Beaver Beauty Academy in Atlanta, Trenz Beauty Academy in Chicago, Universal College in Los Angeles, and the Franklin Institute in Houston, representing Beyoncé’s hometown.

“Our goal is to lift the next generation of inspiring cosmetology students,” states Atiya Johnson, CEO of Jana’s Cosmetology Academy, one of the chosen scholarship partners.

The scholarships, valued at $10,000 each, will be awarded to 25 deserving students pursuing licensure as cosmetologists.

Supporting Salon Owners and Licensed Stylists

Beyoncé’s generosity extends beyond student scholarships. The BeyGOOD x Cécred Fund will also provide grants to salon owners and licensed stylists. Twenty-five grants of $10,000 each will be allocated throughout the year, starting April 20, to eligible barbers and stylists who own or rent a space and demonstrate financial need.

Empowering Diverse Communities and Promoting Inclusivity

Beyoncé’s philanthropic efforts through the BeyGOOD x Cécred Fund align with her mission to uplift and empower diverse communities. The chosen cosmetology schools have a proven track record of providing quality education and supporting underrepresented groups in the industry.

“The institutions chosen were dedicated to providing the next generation of stylists with proper instruction and helping diverse communities,” the announcement states.
