The family of Olivia Caraballo has been awarded $800,000 in damages from McDonald’s after a hot chicken nugget fell on the then-4-year-old’s thigh and left a severe burn scar.

The family originally sought $15 million in damages, but jurors allotted her to receive $400,000 for past damages and $400,000 for the future. The verdict was reached after a 2-hour deliberation.

“I’m actually just happy that they listened to Olivia’s voice and the jury was able to decide a fair judgment,” the girl’s mother, Philana Holmes, told reporters outside the courtroom Wednesday. “I’m happy with that. I honestly had no expectations, so this is more than fair for me.”

Olivia, who is now eight years old, calls her scar her “nugget” and is reportedly “obsessed” with having it removed. #BWLM💕
