Florida governor #RonDeSantis has officially banned the inclusion of the Advanced Placement African American Studies course in the state.
In a letter obtained by @ABC, DeSantis’ administration penned a letter to the Florida College Board notifying them that they are rejecting plans for the AP African American Studies course claiming that it “significantly lacks educational value.”
“Please allow this letter to serve as confination that the Florida Department of Education (FDOE) does not approve the inclusion of the Advanced Placement (AP) African American Studies course in the Florida Course Code Directory and Instructional Personnel Assignments (adopted in State Board of Education Rule 6A-1.09441, Florida Administrative Code),” the letter reads.
“As presented, the content of this course is inexplicably contrary to Florida law and significantly lacks educational value.
In the future, should College Board be willing to come back to the table with lawful, historically accurate content, FDOE will always be willing to reopen the discussion.”
Excuse our French, but WTF do they mean by “lawful, historically accurate content”?! Make sure that we lose no recipes, queens and kings. Teach your children our history! Take them to every single museum that you can get to, because they’re really trying to erase our history which IS American history! #BWLM💕
