Wednesday, April 27th, @Nike and @SerenaWilliams announce the opening of the #SerenaWilliamsHeadquarters – #TheSerenaWilliamsBuilding and it just makes sense. She is one of @Nikes most successful athlete partners and that’s an #alltime stat.

“The whole building takes your breath away” said Williams to @Frontofficesports – it’s been said to be its own city within a city.

The building is, in fact, a tribute to one of the greatest athletes to take on the game of tennis. With twenty-three grand slam wins, there’s a column for each. It doesn’t stop there, though.

The HQ totes an eco-friendly design; The LEED Platinum-certified facility is made up of more than 20% recycled materials, outfitted with 648 solar panels, and designed to reduce stormwater run-off and source pollution and is literally, one million square feet in size.

The architecture firm, Skylab, paid attention to detail but also gives us comparisons for size. Imagine 140 full size tennis courts – that’s the equivalent of the size of the new building. 200,000 of said sq footage is committed to lab space, and 140,000 is committed to showrooms and work space, housing 1,000 designers.

Visitors and employees alike will find the color purple is prominent (Williams’ favorite color) and roses-the tennis star’s favorite flower-throughout the building and landscaping. From the theater named after her daughter, Olympia to the East Compton Hills Country Club Tennis Court (family inside joke), four cafes named for her Grand Slams, 23 columns for her major titles – there is meaning behind it all.

We are so excited to see Serena Williams receive all her flowers from sports to fashion right on down to humanitarian efforts and continuously advocating for Black women.

Shoutout to #Nike for creating the #SWHQ it’s going to fall right in line with the hopes Williams has for it: “…this building encourages people to bring out the best of themselves and to dream bigger than they thought possible.” #BWLM💕
