Joirdyn Smith styled Indiana Fever guard Tyasha Harris for the whole of the 2026 regular season, and she did it while playing college basketball. Smith is 20 and plays guard for Tuskegee University. She has had more than fifteen styling clients in two years and six she works with consistently.
The day is the point. Team workouts start at 4 a.m. or 7 a.m. and she is not home until between four and five in the afternoon. “On the way to games, I’m answering emails. My mind may drift in class, thinking of outfits,” she said. She turns down plans with friends to keep it going. “It’s super tedious. I’m always working and busy, but it’s super fulfilling,” she said.
She started by messaging more than twenty athletes. She first styled Harris for a WNBA tunnel walk in 2023, while she was still in high school, and interned with the stylist Brittany Hampton during 2025 WNBA All-Star Weekend. Her clients now include New Orleans Pelicans guard Jeremiah Fears and Washington Mystics guard Cotie McMahon.
What she will not do is choose. “I want young girls and really anyone who looks up to me to see that you can be great at multiple things,” she said. “I never want to be defined by one label or placed in one box.”
