Voters of Tomorrow endorsed three Black Democratic candidates on October 5, 2026, and Angie Nixon is one of them. Nixon is the Democratic nominee for the United States Senate seat in Florida held by Republican Ashley Moody. The other two endorsements went to Justin J. Pearson in Tennessee’s 9th Congressional District and Donavan McKinney in Michigan’s 13th.
The group organizes young voters. “Nearly 50 million members of Gen Z are eligible to vote in 2026. Right now we have the numbers,” said Kaya Jones, the group’s senior director. Founder Santiago Mayer said young voters “are excited to turn out in droves to finally elect these candidates who share their values.”
Nixon’s response was about the job. “Floridians deserve new leadership in the Senate that works every day on practical solutions,” she said.
The election is November 3, four weeks out. Youth turnout is the piece of the Florida map nobody has been able to predict, and an endorsement from a group built to move it is worth more in a statewide race than it is anywhere else.
A Black woman has never held a Senate seat from Florida. That is the stake sitting underneath the endorsement, and it is the reason to watch the next four weeks rather than the next four days.
