Self Care Awareness Month closes this week, and the Black women who built the products are worth knowing past September 30, 2026.

Ten brands, all Black owned, buyable now.

Sweet July, founded by Ayesha Curry, builds its cleansers, toners and serums around Caribbean ingredients. Buttah Skin formulates for melanin rich skin and keeps the lineup short on purpose. Oui The People makes a body wash with lactic acid in it, plus body oils and fragrance. Octavia Morgan Los Angeles does clean fragrance and body care.

Deandra Craigman Studios makes candles and bath products by hand. Harlem Candle Company builds its candles and diffusers on the Harlem Renaissance.

For the inside work: Adjourn TeaHouse blends tea around the instruction to pause on purpose. Golde does ceremonial matcha. Black Girl Vitamins covers supplements. Introvert N The City makes affirmation decks, a tool for talking back to your own worst voice.

Here is the part nobody says out loud. Most of what gets sold to Black women as self care is a candle and a suggestion that the exhaustion is a personal failure of routine. It is not. The tired is structural and no serum fixes it.

What a list like this is actually good for is smaller and more honest: when you are going to spend the money anyway, spend it where it goes back into a Black woman’s business. That is not rest. It is a redirect. Do both.

Pick the one thing you will actually use on a Tuesday.
