A’ja Wilson scored 38 points and pulled down 16 rebounds as the Las Vegas Aces beat the Indiana Fever 102-85 in Game 1 of their first round playoff series on September 27, 2026.

She shot 15 of 19 from the field and blocked four shots. That is close to unguardable, and she did it in the game that sets the tone for a series.

She had help. Jackie Young finished with 21 points and 10 assists. Chelsea Gray added 14 points and eight assists. For Indiana, Aliyah Boston had 18 points and eight rebounds, and Caitlin Clark had 15 points and 10 assists.

Gray’s take on watching Wilson work: “get out of the way. It’s a blessing to be able to see this every single day.”

Game 2 is Tuesday night in Indianapolis, where a loss ends Indiana’s season.

Wilson has spent this season in the conversation about the greatest to ever play the game, and nights like this are the argument. Twenty seven years old, a résumé that already includes titles and MVP honors, and a postseason opener where she scored more than a third of her team’s points.

Watch the rebounding number too. Sixteen boards next to 38 points means she was still doing the unglamorous work in a game she could have coasted through.
