The investment will help the company expand manufacturing, grow its engineering team, and prepare HaloBraid for its commercial launch. The patent-pending device is designed to help professional braiders complete hairstyles much faster without replacing the skill that makes every stylist unique.
HaloBraid Technology Aims to Transform Professional Hair Braiding
Halo describes HaloBraid as the first braid-assist device created specifically for professional braiders. Instead of replacing stylists, the technology works alongside them throughout the braiding process.
Stylists begin each braid by hand, just as they normally would. After that, HaloBraid completes the remaining length while preserving the stylist’s personal braiding technique. According to the company, the device can complete braids up to five times faster than traditional hand braiding.
That speed could significantly change the daily workflow for many professionals. Braiding appointments often last six hours or longer. Shorter appointment times could allow stylists to serve more clients while reducing physical exhaustion.
Beauty Technology Supports Stylists Without Replacing Their Skills
Unlike many forms of automation, Halo says its goal is to support professionals instead of replacing them. The company believes the artistry behind braiding should always remain in the hands of skilled stylists.
The device allows braiders to stay in control of every hairstyle while reducing repetitive work. As a result, clients can still enjoy customized looks while spending less time in the salon.

Beyond saving time, Halo hopes its technology will improve the long-term health of hair professionals. The company estimates that people spend roughly eight billion hours braiding hair worldwide every year.
Those long hours often place tremendous strain on stylists’ hands, wrists, shoulders, and arms. According to Halo, repeated movements can contribute to conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, and arthritis.
Reducing repetitive motion could help many braiders enjoy longer careers while lowering the risk of work-related injuries. At the same time, salon owners may increase appointment availability without sacrificing quality.
$7 Million Investment Fuels HaloBraid Commercial Launch
The newly secured funding marks a major milestone for the growing beauty technology startup. Halo plans to use the capital to increase manufacturing capacity and strengthen its engineering team.
The company is also preparing HaloBraid for commercial distribution to professional salons. While excitement continues to grow, Halo has not yet announced a retail price or official release date.
