Angel Reese Makes Fashion History on October 15

Basketball star Angel Reese is stepping into a new spotlight. She will make history as the first professional athlete to walk in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Her runway debut is set for October 15 in New York City. Fans will also be able to watch the show live on Prime Video.

The 23-year-old forward for the Chicago Sky shared the news with pure excitement. “Stepping into a dream: From Angel to a Victoria’s Secret ANGEL… Wings on, heels ready… Catch me on the runway,” she wrote on Instagram.

This moment marks a cultural shift in fashion and sports. Reese is breaking boundaries while inspiring a new generation of athletes who dream beyond the court.

Victoria’s Secret Welcomes Angel Reese With Open Arms

Shortly after Reese’s announcement, Victoria’s Secret celebrated the news with a special video. The clip showed her dressed in a pink robe, black lingerie, and the brand’s signature feather wings.

In the caption, the company described her as “the first professional athlete angel.” That title alone signals how significant her debut will be. This year’s show is expected to bring more inclusivity and star power to the iconic runway.

Reese’s bold step into the modeling world follows a long tradition of women defining beauty on their own terms. She’s not just walking a runway—she’s changing the game.

    A Dream Turned Into Reality

Reese’s moment on the runway didn’t happen overnight. Just last year, she was in the audience watching the fashion show for the first time. “It’s such a surreal and full-circle moment — just last year I was in the audience manifesting being on that runway,” she told People.

She also shared how the show inspired her. “I was in awe of all the powerful women walking down the runway, and now I get to return as an Angel. This will be an unforgettable night that I’ll forever be grateful for.”

The fashion show first launched in 2001 but took a break after 2019. It returned in 2024 with a promise of fresh energy and more diverse representation.

    Confidence Leads the Way

While Reese is known for her competitive edge on the basketball court, she says the same confidence fuels her modeling journey. “It’s all about confidence,” she explained.

Her leap from athlete to runway model reflects her versatility. Reese joins a list of powerhouse names walking this year’s show, including Adriana Lima, Joan Smalls, Anok Yai, Lily Aldridge, and Alex Consani.

Adding even more excitement, the event will feature a headline performance by Missy Elliott. All signs point to a powerful night blending fashion, culture, and unapologetic confidence.

    A Powerful New Chapter

Angel Reese’s rise is about more than runway lights and glamour. She’s setting a new standard for how Black women and athletes can thrive in multiple spaces. Her moment at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show shows that confidence and ambition can rewrite the rules.

With every step down that runway, she’ll be walking for every young girl who dreams boldly and dares to shine.
