A Global Stage for Black Women in Tech

Black Women Talk Tech is taking its mission beyond borders once again. The collective of Black women tech founders is bringing its celebrated Roadmap to Billions Conference back to Toronto for the second year in a row.

Presented by Accelerate Auto, the two-day conference will run October 5–6 and provide a powerful platform for Black women entrepreneurs in Canada’s tech space. The event promises education, mentorship, and access to resources that can help emerging founders grow sustainable and impactful businesses.

“This isn’t just a conference—it’s a movement,” said Regina Gwynn, co-founder of Black Women Talk Tech. “We’re excited to return to Toronto with even more momentum, deeper partnerships, and new opportunities for Black women founders to access capital, mentorship, and community.”

Empowering Black Women Founders in Canada

The Toronto edition of Roadmap to Billions is more than networking—it’s about empowerment and ownership. Attendees will take part in panel discussions, strategy workshops, and hands-on sessions designed to build both confidence and business skills.

This year also includes a pitch competition, where eligible Black women tech founders can compete for up to $10,000 CAD to help scale their companies. The Mentor Marketplace will allow participants to connect directly with investors and industry leaders, creating space for partnerships that can spark real growth.

    Building Community Through Shared Resources

The conference highlights collaboration with key partners like Nobellum, PitchBetter, and Ambition. These alliances reflect the shared mission of building a strong ecosystem for Black women in tech.

Workshops such as Braindate will give participants practical strategies for networking, while a live recording of Currencies, the official Black Women Talk Tech podcast, will spotlight candid conversations about innovation, culture, and entrepreneurship.

    A Lineup of Inspiring Speakers

Attendees will hear from trailblazing voices across industries. This year’s lineup includes the Hon. Marci Ien, former Canadian Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Youth, alongside changemakers like Kay Layne, Yolanda Biswah, Amoye Henry, and Nkechi Nwafor-Robinson.

Each speaker brings a unique perspective on leadership, equity, and innovation, underscoring the conference’s commitment to celebrating Black women who are shaping the future of tech.

The Legacy of Roadmap to Billions

The Roadmap to Billions started in New York in 2017 and is the first and only tech event created by and for Black women founders. Since then, it has grown into an international platform that amplifies the voices, talents, and ventures of Black women in technology.

By expanding to Toronto, the event signals not just growth but also a recognition that the future of tech innovation must include Black women—on a global scale.
