Tracee Ellis Ross Expands Pattern Beauty Into Body Care

Tracee Ellis Ross has introduced Pattern Beauty’s first-ever body care collection. The launch marks an important step for the actress and entrepreneur, who always envisioned Pattern as a full beauty brand, not just hair care.

“This body launch was always in the cards for me,” Ross said. She explained that Pattern Beauty was built to celebrate and care for the whole person. This expansion brings that vision to life.

The new line carries the Midnight Amber signature scent, which blends amber, musk, bergamot, and a hint of citrus. For Ross, the launch goes beyond skincare. It is about creating a routine that nurtures self-love and wellness, especially for Black women.

Inside Pattern Beauty’s Body Care Collection

The collection features five new products designed for hydration and radiance. They include:

    • Dry Exfoliating Body Scrub made with dead sea salts and coconut oil
    • Moisturizing Body Wash with aloe vera and olive oil
    • Nourishing Body Oil enriched with jojoba and baobab oils
    • Hydrating Body Lotion with mango seed butter
    • Moisture Rich Body Cream formulated with illipe seed butter

Together, these products help exfoliate, cleanse, and lock in moisture. Ross shared that she often uses dry brushing and body oil as part of her wellness practices. These steps support circulation and hydration, leaving her skin soft and glowing.

Tracee’s Unique Approach to Body Care

Ross takes body care seriously and applies her routine with intention. She exfoliates once a week before shaving, then cleanses with body wash. Unlike many routines, she applies body oil while her skin is still damp in the shower.

“My advice, if you do this, do the oil part on your mat when you step out of the shower, so that you don’t slip,” she said with a laugh. She then follows with lotion or, during colder months, the rich body cream.

Her ritual ends with re-oiling her feet to keep her pedicure fresh. If she had to choose essentials, she would keep the shower gel and lotion. “I’d still feel clean, soft, hydrated, and pretty with those,” she said.

A Philosophy of Intention and Self-Love

Beyond the products, Ross views body care as part of her overall wellness. She believes in slowing down and grounding herself before facing her busy schedule.

“One of my philosophies is to move with intention,” she explained. “There’s a tendency to want to rush, but I find that I actually get more done when I don’t rush.”

Her daily practices include applying a face mask, using her body products, and reciting her mantra: “My cup runneth over.” These rituals remind her to stay centered.

Pattern Beauty’s Commitment to Black Women’s Wellness

Ross wants Pattern Beauty to inspire women to embrace self-care on their own terms. For her, wellness is deeply personal. She encourages Black women not to feel pressured by outside expectations.

“We often feel pressured to make decisions based on what others are doing,” she said. Instead, she chooses to follow her “inner compass,” which guides her toward balance and joy.

Hydration will continue to play a central role in Pattern’s future offerings. Ross hinted at more product expansions ahead. For now, her body care line is a powerful reminder that beauty includes every part of us.
