Issa Rae Announces Multi-City Book Tour for I Should Be Smarter Now

Issa Rae is bringing her words to life with a new book tour. The Insecure creator will visit major cities to meet fans and discuss her latest book, I Should Be Smarter Now.

Her production company, Hoorae Media, announced the tour dates on Instagram. Stops include Philadelphia, Dallas, Chicago, Washington D.C., and Atlanta. Each event promises more than just a reading—it’s an intimate space for conversations that inspire.

Rae’s tour gives fans a chance to connect with her on a deeper level. Through her candid storytelling, she invites readers into her journey, sharing the lessons she’s learned along the way.

A Book Filled With Life Lessons and Personal Insights

I Should Be Smarter Now is more than a memoir. It’s a collection of six personal essays that explore themes like ambition, creativity, and perseverance. Topics range from “The Business of Being Me” to “The Art of Strategic Procrastination.”

In an interview with People, Rae described the book as “part confession, part reflection and part ‘here’s what I wish I’d known.’ Mostly it’s just me being honest about the weird, wonderful journey from having big dreams to making them a reality.”

The book, set for release on August 26 through Amazon Original Stories, follows her 2015 bestseller The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl. Rae says she hopes readers will not only enjoy the stories but also take away lessons they can apply in their own lives.

From Screen Success to Literary Voice

Issa Rae has already made her mark in television, film, and entrepreneurship. Now she’s solidifying her place in the literary world with her second major book.

Beyond writing and acting, Rae leads Hoorae—a company that includes Hoorae Media, the Raedio music label, and the creative agency ColorCreative. She also invests in her local community, helping launch her company’s South L.A. headquarters and supporting businesses like Hilltop Café + Kitchen and the Destination Crenshaw nonprofit.

Her tour events are expected to reflect that same spirit of empowerment. Attendees will leave with more than signed books—they’ll leave with fresh inspiration for their own creative and professional journeys.

A Chance to Hear the Real Issa Rae

For fans, this tour is a rare opportunity to see Issa Rae up close. She will not just read from I Should Be Smarter Now but also share behind-the-scenes stories from her career.

Whether she’s discussing the challenges of Hollywood or the rewards of following your passion, Rae keeps it real. She invites people into her world with openness, humor, and wisdom.

As her influence grows, Rae continues to prove that her success is about more than personal achievement—it’s about building connections, telling authentic stories, and inspiring others to keep chasing their dreams.
