WNBA Legend Signs Multi-Year Contract Extension With TNT Sports
Candace Parker has signed a new multi-year contract to continue as a sports analyst for TNT Sports. The agreement ensures that millions of viewers will keep hearing her sharp insights and championship perspective on the game.
She will also stay on as a commentator for the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship on CBS Sports, a role she has held since 2019. Beyond that, Parker will contribute to Bleacher Report, the B/R W platform, and serve as lead studio analyst for the women’s 3-on-3 basketball league, Unrivaled.
“I’m grateful to keep doing what I love with my TNT Sports family,” Parker said. “Getting to cover the Big EAST, Big 12, March Madness, and now Unrivaled—it all means a lot. These moments are special, and I don’t take any of it for granted.”
A Career Full of Firsts and Historic Wins
Parker’s path to this point is built on a legendary basketball career. At the University of Tennessee, she led her team to back-to-back NCAA championships in 2007 and 2008. That same year, she was drafted first overall by the Los Angeles Sparks.
She made history immediately, becoming the first player to win WNBA Rookie of the Year and MVP in the same season. During her 13 years with the Sparks, she won her first WNBA title in 2016 and earned Finals MVP honors.
Parker later joined her hometown Chicago Sky, where she helped deliver their first championship in 2021. She capped her playing career with the Las Vegas Aces, winning another title in 2023 before retiring.
Gold Medals, Lasting Honors, and Unmatched Influence
Parker is not only a WNBA champion—she is also a two-time Olympic gold medalist, winning with Team USA in 2008 and 2012. Her influence on and off the court has shaped generations of athletes, particularly women in basketball.
In June, the Sparks retired her No. 3 jersey during halftime of a game against the Chicago Sky. She became only the third player in team history to receive this honor, joining legends Lisa Leslie and Penny Toler. Later this month, the Chicago Sky will retire her number as well, celebrating her impact on the city and the sport.
Continuing Her Legacy Beyond the Court
This new TNT Sports deal marks another chapter in Parker’s post-playing career. As a broadcaster, she brings a player’s experience, a champion’s mindset, and a trailblazer’s courage to every broadcast.
Her work with Unrivaled, a league focused on growing women’s basketball, shows her dedication to building the game’s future. Whether on TV, in the studio, or through mentorship, Parker continues to inspire the next generation.
With this extension, her voice will remain a key part of basketball’s biggest conversations. And for millions of fans, that means more wisdom, more inspiration, and more of Candace Parker’s unmatched presence in the game she loves.
