Leaving Basketball Wives After 12 Seasons
Shaunie Henderson, the creator and executive producer of Basketball Wives, is entering a new season of life. As the show ends its twelfth season, she’s reflecting on the journey that brought her here. For over a decade, Shaunie helped shape reality television. Now, she’s stepping away from the cameras to follow a calling rooted in faith.
Though fans knew her as the woman behind a hit reality series, Shaunie always preferred working behind the scenes. “I never wanted fame,” she said. “I’d rather be behind the camera, doing the business side.” Still, she understands that her name and work have made an impact.
From TV Mogul to First Lady of The Lighthouse Church
Many people see Shaunie’s move into ministry as a surprise. She now serves as the First Lady of The Lighthouse Church in Texas, alongside her husband, Pastor Keion Henderson. But for Shaunie, this shift feels natural. She grew up in church and says her new role is right on time.
“This didn’t feel foreign,” she shared. “It felt divinely timed.” The transition wasn’t without its struggles. Moving from the fast-paced entertainment world to church leadership meant learning to live in both spaces. Still, Shaunie has found peace in walking with purpose.
Balancing Her Faith and Public Life
Shaunie is now learning to balance her calling and career. While she’s no longer leading Basketball Wives, her influence still shows. Her story is one of growth, faith, and honest reflection. She hopes her life inspires other women who may be feeling the pull toward something new.
Though she no longer seeks the spotlight, Shaunie is proud of her journey. “People know who I am,” she said. “And I do not take it lightly that this helped the show succeed.” Whether behind the scenes or leading in church, she continues to walk boldly in her truth.
