From Drugstore Pencils to a Global Beauty Brand

Danessa Myricks started her beauty journey with almost nothing but big dreams. As a single mom of two, she couldn’t afford a full makeup kit. So, she melted 99-cent drugstore pencils and poured the wax into eyeshadow pans.

That homemade formula became the base for her first real product—ColorFix. She mixed it, tested it, and perfected it in her basement. A decade later, Danessa Myricks Beauty is a top name in makeup, and she’s now celebrating 10 years with a brand-new launch.

ColorFix Stix Is the Anniversary Drop Everyone’s Talking About

To mark this major milestone, Myricks introduced her first-ever eyeshadow stick: the ColorFix Stix. It’s a double-sided, multi-use tool with one metallic end and one foil end. Each stick connects with a magnetic base, making it easy to switch shades or mix them up.

“We put together a collection of 10 shades—20 if you count both sides,” she said. The colors are fun, wearable, and perfect for all skin tones. The new formula still honors the creamy texture of the original ColorFix but now comes in a more user-friendly stick format.

From Mystic Taupe to Shadow Eclipse, It’s All About Versatility

Each stick has two shades that work beautifully together. Think silver taupe paired with champagne foil. Or a deep chocolate brown next to glowing gold. There’s even an olive green matched with a shimmering sage.

“Because they’re based in water, it looks good on every skin tone,” Myricks said. That makes the sticks easy to use for makeup lovers of all ages, especially women over 50 looking for something simple and flattering.

Simple Makeup for Busy Lives

Myricks knows what it’s like to be busy. She said her own makeup routine is quick and fuss-free. Just a few ColorFix Stix, a dab of concealer, and some lip gloss. That’s why she designed the Stix for speed and ease—no brushes needed.

“It’s easy on, easy off,” she explained. The dome-shaped applicator makes it easy to swipe on and go. It’s ideal for anyone who wants beautiful makeup without the drama.

Making Pro Techniques Easy for Everyone

Danessa Myricks started with the pros in mind. But the future of her brand is all about making expert-level looks easy for everyday people. The ColorFix Stix is packed with pro tips turned into simple tools.

“This, you can’t mess up. It’s water and it’s pearls,” she said. And when people use it and say, “I never thought I could actually wear that, and I can,” she knows she’s doing something right.
