A beautiful celebration of Black love and family took center stage this past weekend. Brittney Atkins, the only daughter of rapper Ja Rule, married her longtime love, Tevin Aitken, in a sparkling, Great Gatsby-inspired wedding that left guests in awe.

A Dream Wedding Filled With Glamour and Love

On Friday, May 23, Brittney Atkins, 29, said “I do” to Tevin Aitken, 31, in front of 250 guests. The romantic event took place at the stunning Villa Barone Hilltop Manor in Mahopac, New York. With its glamorous theme inspired by the Roaring Twenties, the wedding was both stylish and heartfelt.

The special day was made even more meaningful when Ja Rule walked his daughter down the aisle. The proud father held her arm as Kenny Lattimore’s classic love song, “For You,” played softly. Later, he shared a photo from the big moment, captioning it, “Such an amazing moment for any father to walk his daughter down the aisle… love you Babygirl.”

A Bride’s Vision and a Father’s Pride

Brittney, known for her appearances on Growing Up Hip Hop: New York, took charge of the wedding planning herself. She carefully chose every detail to create a night filled with love, elegance, and joy. “We honestly just wanted to make sure the room was full of love to see us showcase ours,” she told PEOPLE.

Her wedding gown was as dazzling as the night itself. Brittney wore a sparkling belted dress paired with a floor-length veil and delicate pearl accessories that wrapped around her forehead. She found the gown at a local bridal boutique and knew it was the one immediately. “I made a decision that same day,” she shared. “It was just stunning.”

A Love Story Built on Friendship and Balance

Before the ceremony, the groom shared handwritten vows with his bride in a private moment. The ceremony itself was officiated by Tevin’s childhood pastor, adding a personal touch to the celebration. The couple’s love story began years ago when they met on a dating app. In September 2023, Tevin proposed on a beach in Jamaica, his home country.

“It is definitely a dream come true to be able to marry your best friend,” Brittney told PEOPLE. The couple credits their strong relationship to balance and mutual respect. “We admire both of each other’s passion and light in different things,” Brittney said. “We add to each other and teach each other new things all the time.”

A Family Affair and a Look Toward the Future

The wedding wasn’t just about romance — it was a celebration of family. Brittney is the oldest of Ja Rule and his wife Aisha Atkins’ three children. The couple, married for 24 years, also shares sons Jeffrey Jr. and Jordan. Ja Rule’s joy was visible as he shared loving messages and captured memories throughout the evening.

Looking ahead, Brittney and Tevin are excited to build a life together. “We’re looking forward to having beautiful babies, starting a home, and enjoying life as a new couple,” Brittney shared. The newlyweds are eager to experience new adventures and create lasting memories side by side.
