Meagan Good Set to Inspire ODU’s Class of 2025

Award-winning actress and director Meagan Good will soon make a powerful appearance at Old Dominion University (ODU).
Good has been selected as the keynote speaker for the 2025 Commencement ceremonies, where she will address over 2,000 graduating students.

The celebrations will take place on May 9 and 10 at Kornblau Field in S.B. Ballard Stadium, located in Norfolk, Virginia.
Good’s message of perseverance and self-empowerment is expected to leave a lasting impact on the Class of 2025.

ODU Welcomes Meagan Good for a Historic Moment

ODU President Brian O. Hemphill shared his excitement about Good’s visit in an official statement.
“We are honored to welcome Meagan Good to Old Dominion University,” Hemphill said.

He added, “The Class of 2025 has worked hard to get to this pivotal moment in their lives, and hearing about Ms. Good’s remarkable career and message of self-empowerment will propel them to step out into the world inspired and ready to make a difference.”

Ceremony Details and Who Will Attend

The main undergraduate ceremony featuring Good will be held on Saturday, May 10, starting at 9:30 a.m.
Students from several colleges will graduate, including the Batten College of Engineering and Technology and the Strome College of Business.

Other colleges represented include the Darden College of Education and Professional Studies, the College of Arts and Letters, and the School of Data Science.
John Ford, an ODU professor and marketing expert, will speak at the Advanced Degree Ceremony for graduate students on May 9.

Meagan Good’s Powerful Career Journey

Good’s journey to stardom began early. She first gained attention as a child actor in the classic film Eve’s Bayou.
Her career quickly expanded into hit television shows, music videos, and popular movie franchises like Think Like a Man and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.

Today, Good stars in Harlem, an Amazon series created by Tracy Oliver.
Her performance in Harlem earned her a nomination for the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series.
