MyAngel Ross just changed the game at Lithia Springs High School. The senior flag football star became the school’s first student-athlete to sign an NIL deal—and she earned it with an incredible seven-touchdown season.
The entire school celebrated her achievement on March 25. Teammates, coaches, and even the principal cheered as Ross made history. “She’s opening the door for other students to see what’s possible,” said Roderick Liptrot, CEO of the Alternative Careers in Sports Academy (ACSA), which backed her deal.
A Dominant Season Leads to a Landmark Deal
Ross didn’t just play flag football—she owned it. Last season, she scored seven touchdowns as both a safety and wide receiver for the Lithia Springs Lions. Her speed, skill, and leadership stood out.
That performance caught the attention of ACSA, an organization helping young athletes with career planning. “She’s worked so hard, and this is well-deserved,” said Athletic Director Mikey Jones. Now, Ross gets to profit from her name, image, and likeness—a huge step for high school athletes.
What This NIL Deal Means for High School Sports
Georgia high schoolers only gained NIL rights in 2022. Ross’s deal shows how much has changed. While students still can’t join NIL collectives, they can now earn from endorsements and partnerships.
For Ross, this opportunity goes beyond money. “She’s setting an example,” said former coach Kendra Pleasants. Her success proves that hard work—on and off the field—pays off.
A Celebration of Hard Work and Community Support
When Ross signed her deal, the whole school showed up. Principal Felicia Jones praised her dedication, and teammates cheered her on.
Ross thanked everyone who helped her get here—coaches, family, and friends. “This isn’t just about me,” she said. “It’s about showing what we can do.” With this deal, she’s not just making history—she’s inspiring the next generation.
