From Fordham to Hollywood Stardom
Hall first made audiences laugh in the Scary Movie franchise before earning critical acclaim in Girls Trip and Think Like a Man. Her versatility has kept her in demand for over two decades.
Beyond acting, she earned a master’s in journalism from NYU. Fordham highlighted her philanthropy and advocacy for racial equity and women’s rights as reasons for honoring her.
A Speech to Inspire Graduates
On May 17, Hall will address Fordham’s Class of 2025 at the Rose Hill campus in the Bronx. Past speakers include former President Bill Clinton and Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
“Regina is an inspiring role model who will show our graduates what it looks like to live out our Jesuit values,” said Fordham President Tania Tetlow.
Giving Back While Rising to the Top
Hall has used her platform to support education and healthcare initiatives. Her commitment to social change aligns with Fordham’s mission of service.
The honorary degree recognizes her impact on and off-screen. For graduates, her journey proves that success comes with talent, hard work, and a dedication to lifting others.
