Pat McGrath, the world-renowned makeup artist, has just been named Creative Director of Louis Vuitton’s first-ever makeup line, La Beauté Louis Vuitton. This exciting announcement comes just days before the luxury brand’s highly anticipated fall/winter 2025 fashion show. Known for her groundbreaking work and viral beauty looks, McGrath is set to bring a new level of innovation and luxury to the iconic brand.

A Historic Role in Luxury Beauty

Pat McGrath’s appointment as Creative Director marks a historic moment for both the beauty and fashion industries. She is the first person ever to hold this role at Louis Vuitton, a brand with a rich history dating back to 1854. Over the past four years, McGrath has been hard at work on the makeup line’s product development, balancing this with her busy schedule of leading shows and running her own brand, PAT McGRATH LABS.

“Working backstage for over 20 years at Louis Vuitton fashion shows, I am thrilled to now play such a key role in the launch of La Beauté Louis Vuitton,” McGrath said in a press release. “What we are creating here will unlock a new level in luxury beauty.”

The new line promises to blend extraordinary craftsmanship with creativity and innovation. The products will include 55 lipsticks, 10 tinted lip balms, and possibly eight eyeshadow quads, showcasing a wide range of luxurious options for beauty lovers.

What to Expect from La Beauté Louis Vuitton

La Beauté Louis Vuitton will not only feature a wide selection of makeup but also draw inspiration from the brand’s historical archives. McGrath has had full access to these archives, which include vanity cases for delicate perfumes and cosmetics from the 1800s, as well as vintage powder compacts, brushes, and mirrors from the 1920s.

Pietro Beccari, Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton, shared his excitement about the new venture: “La Beauté Louis Vuitton is a natural business evolution, driven by our meticulous attention to quality, formula, and innovation. Through this new universe, we can further accompany clients in their everyday lives with purpose and pleasure, while continuing to celebrate our creativity and heritage.”

The makeup line is expected to reflect the timeless elegance of Louis Vuitton while introducing fresh, modern elements through McGrath’s visionary approach.

Pat McGrath’s Legacy and Influence

Pat McGrath’s influence in the beauty world is undeniable. She is widely regarded as the most influential makeup artist globally, with her work setting trends and redefining beauty standards. Her brand, PAT McGRATH LABS, is celebrated for its innovative products and bold color choices.

McGrath’s collaboration with Louis Vuitton is not her first experience with luxury brands. Her expertise has graced countless runways, with 15 shows this season alone. However, this role offers her a unique platform to shape an entire makeup line from concept to creation.

Her appointment is a significant step forward, not only for luxury beauty but also for representation and creativity within the industry. McGrath’s journey serves as an inspiration to many, showing that true talent and perseverance can lead to groundbreaking achievements.
