Linsey Davis turned heads on the 2025 Oscars red carpet with her striking Monot gown. The ABC news anchor and co-host of the “On The Red Carpet” pre-show shared how she prepared for the big night, blending fashion, research, and inspiration.

Binge-Watching Nominated Films Was Key

Before stepping onto the red carpet, Davis immersed herself in the world of film. She spent hours binge-watching the nominated movies, ensuring she was well-prepared for her interviews. Speaking with actors, actresses, and costume designers like Coleman Domingo and Paul Tazewell was a highlight for her. She credits her producer, Lindsey Griswold, for providing invaluable background information. Davis said the experience of talking to creatives behind the scenes was monumental.

The night held historic moments, including Paul Tazewell becoming the first Black man to win an Oscar for Best Costume Design for his work on “Wicked.” This made Davis’s preparation all the more important as she celebrated and highlighted such achievements.

Trusting Her Stylist for a Show-Stopping Look

Davis has worked with stylist DiAndre Tristan for three years, and his expertise shined through once again. Tristan, a three-time Emmy Award winner, chose a stunning Monot gown for Davis, featuring oversized bow accents. “I trust the team. I just let them play and have fun,” Davis said.

Her beauty team included hairstylist Merylin Mitchell and makeup artist Lena Wright, who helped complete her glamorous look. Davis also wore jewelry by Ben The Jeweler, adding the perfect touch to her ensemble.

Fashion Inspiration From Trailblazing Women

When it comes to style, Davis looks to influential women like Deborah Roberts, Diane Sawyer, and Tamron Hall. “Tamron is a style icon,” she shared. She described Sawyer’s style as “classic” and noted a Parisian flair in Roberts’ fashion choices. These women, like Davis, are known for their strong sense of style and impactful presence.

Davis, typically seen in colorful power suits and even sneakers, enjoyed embracing a different fashion statement at the Oscars. Her thoughtful preparation and collaboration with her team resulted in a standout red carpet moment.
