TikTok and Black Girl Ventures Join Forces to Empower Black Women Entrepreneurs

TikTok and Black Girl Ventures (BGV) have launched the 2025 SOAR Together accelerator to support Black women entrepreneurs. This six-week program offers funding, mentorship, and business coaching to help Black-owned businesses grow. Despite facing a potential U.S. ban, TikTok remains committed to backing Black entrepreneurs, who rely heavily on the platform for success.

The program arrives as TikTok battles legal challenges in the U.S. A recent Oxford Economics study revealed that 57% of Black-owned small businesses consider TikTok critical to their survival. By launching SOAR Together 2025, TikTok reinforces its dedication to providing Black entrepreneurs with opportunities, even as the platform’s future in the U.S. remains unclear.

    What SOAR Together 2025 Offers

The accelerator will select 20 Black-owned businesses from various industries, including digital creatives, to participate. Over six weeks, participants will receive mentorship, expert coaching, and access to TikTok Shop resources. This initiative builds on TikTok’s $1 million investment in Black Girl Ventures, reinforcing efforts to break financial and systemic barriers for Black business owners.

Black Girl Ventures: Leading the Charge for Women of Color in Business

Founded by entrepreneur and computer scientist Omi Bell, Black Girl Ventures has been at the forefront of increasing access to capital and resources for Black and brown women. The SOAR Together accelerator aligns with BGV’s mission, providing participants with tools to thrive in the digital marketplace and scale their businesses successfully.

TikTok is also promoting Black business leaders through its #BlackTikTok Voices to Watch campaign. This initiative highlights Black changemakers in education, entertainment, beauty, fashion, food, and lifestyle. Notable figures featured include @afamstudies, @thelaybankz, and @cocoaasante.

How to Apply for SOAR Together 2025

Applications for the accelerator program are open until February 21, 2025. Black women entrepreneurs interested in joining can apply through Black Girl Ventures’ official website: https://blackgirlventures.submittable.com/submit.
