Franklin, 46, planned the proposal as part of a photo shoot, surprising Castillo with a custom engagement ring designed by Carlotta Sarenas. “Finding Maria has been one of God’s greatest blessings in my life,” Franklin told PEOPLE. “I wanted the proposal to be as special as our love.”
