Ayesha Curry, a Canadian-American entrepreneur, chef, and actress, recently opened up about the unique ways her family keeps her grounded. Among her four children, her six-year-old son, Canon, stands out with his knack for delivering unfiltered, humorous moments that keep her humble.

How Canon Keeps Ayesha Grounded

In a candid interview with Haute Beauty, Ayesha shared how her son Canon often brings her back to reality with his childlike honesty.

“He’s done this three times now,” Ayesha revealed, laughing. “He’ll run into the kitchen and say, ‘Mom, are you having another baby? Your belly looks big.’ I’m like, ‘No, I’m not.’ And in my head, I’m thinking, ‘Actually, I just lost three pounds!’ But I don’t say it out loud—he really keeps me on my toes!”

Despite these moments, Ayesha sees them as a reminder to embrace humility and find humor in daily life. Her children, including 12-year-old Riley, 9-year-old Ryan, and baby Caius, play an essential role in shaping her perspective.

Balancing Motherhood and Self-Care

For Ayesha, self-care is not a luxury but a necessity. She explained how simple routines help her stay balanced and confident.

“Sometimes, it’s just being at home in sweatpants, taking care of my kids, and having no makeup on,” she said. “If my skin is behaving that week, I’ll feel really beautiful because it didn’t freak out on me.”

She added that even small acts like taking a bubble bath, enjoying a glass of wine, or putting on a face mask after her children go to bed can be transformative. “Even 30 minutes of me-time can completely change how I feel—it makes me feel more put-together,” she said.

Date nights with her husband, NBA star Stephen Curry, are also crucial. “When I get dressed up, do my makeup just right, and wear something cute, I’m definitely feeling myself,” she shared.

Building Confidence Through Sweet July Skin

Ayesha also credited her skincare brand, Sweet July Skin, for giving her a confidence boost. Inspired by her Caribbean roots, the line emphasizes natural, effective ingredients that promote healthy skin.

“Creating Sweet July Skin was about sharing products that genuinely work for me,” she said. The brand has become a symbol of her commitment to self-care and empowerment.

In partnership with her husband, Ayesha is also active in promoting healthy living through initiatives like Michelle Obama’s PLEZi Nutrition. The couple’s efforts extend their passion for family and wellness into their community.

Ayesha’s Journey as a Multifaceted Mom

Balancing her roles as a mom, entrepreneur, and public figure, Ayesha credits her family with keeping her motivated. She approaches each day with a focus on gratitude and staying present.

Her humor and honesty about motherhood resonate with many women. Whether juggling her kids’ activities or running her skincare brand, Ayesha remains a relatable role model for women seeking balance and joy.
